Profee Inpatient Coding Specialist

Job Summary Coding Specialists are an important part of the team at CorroHealth. The role focuses on CPT, HCPCS, and ICD‑10‑CM coding for 1–4 specialties, including Professional Fee, Facility, or HCC coding. This is a remote position. The team member must work independently from home and provide high‑quality coding services for diverse specialty areas. Responsibilities Provide various components of coding services to support our clients. Calculate Professional Fee Inpatient E/M levels using the company algorithm. Code CPT for bedside procedures when performed. Recognize critical‑care cases by patient acuity. Code surgical procedures typical of an ER setting to capture additional revenue. Apply ICD‑10‑CM diagnosis codes to the highest level of specificity. Accurately apply diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD‑10‑CM, ICD‑10‑PCS, CPT®, and HCPCS. Interpret coding guidelines for accurate code assignment. Identify the importance of documentation on code assignment and reimbursement impact. Align conduct with AHIMA’s Standards of Ethical Coding, the Company’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, and support the Ethics and Compliance Program. Comply with all internal policies and procedures. Actively participate in company‑provided training and education. Minimum Qualifications Certified through either AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS‑P). At least 6 months of on‑the‑job experience. Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance required. Working knowledge and experience with EMR, billing, and other coding systems. Phone, reliable Internet connection, and current coding reference materials (CPT and ICD‑10‑CM). Maintain an ongoing productivity level and accuracy rate of 95% or higher. Maintain a quality score of 95% or higher. Proficient in Microsoft programs such as Excel and Outlook. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines. May be required to perform other duties as assigned by the Leadership Team Member. Physical Demands Regular eye–hand coordination and manual dexterity required to operate office equipment. Work at a computer terminal for 6–8 hours a day in an environment with constant interruptions. May be required to sit for prolonged periods; occasionally lift and move material up to 20lbs.
