Position Overview

MedSphere Counseling Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic team in Augusta, Georgia. This full-time role is primarily remote, allowing for flexible work-life integration while providing vital mental health support to individuals affected by trauma. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to evaluate patients’ trauma backgrounds and determine tailored treatment paths.
• Collaborate with patients to create and implement individualized treatment plans that emphasize trauma recovery and promote resilience.
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), in both individual and group therapy formats.
• Facilitate sessions that aid patients in processing their trauma experiences and developing effective coping strategies.
• Engage in interprofessional collaboration with psychiatrists and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive and integrated patient care.
• Respond to crisis situations, providing immediate support and intervention during trauma-related emergencies.
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, effective coping mechanisms, and additional community resources available to assist in recovery.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards using electronic health record systems.
• Participate in regular case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development workshops focusing on trauma-informed practices.
• Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to continually improve therapeutic approaches.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with individuals who have experienced trauma, requiring sensitivity, empathy, and advanced therapeutic skills. This patient population includes adults and adolescents dealing with the aftermath of traumatic experiences, seeking both immediate relief from symptoms and long-term recovery strategies.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Georgia.
• Demonstrated understanding of trauma-related disorders and proficiency in trauma-informed treatment modalities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, complemented by a compassionate and non-judgmental approach.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer applications.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for staying informed about best practices in mental health therapy.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience in a mental health counseling setting, preferably with a focus on trauma.
• Experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies and a solid knowledge of resilience-building approaches.
• Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations while maintaining a calm demeanor.
• Collaborative experience working in multidisciplinary team settings.

Compensation and Benefits
