Job ID: P143671-2811 Job Description This is a Fixed Term position Job Summary This paragraph summarizes the general nature, level and purpose of the job. The primary purpose of the Administrative Internship is to provide a Graduate Student with relevant field experiences, in their chosen field of study. One or more mentors will be assigned to the intern to provide instruction, guidance and to assess performance. The intern is responsible for observing the functions and processes of the assigned work unit. In addition, the intern may be given selected work assignments to reinforce the learning experience, to assess the performance levels and to provide benefit to the work unit. The intern will be responsible for completing all internship-related assignments and reports for both Stanford Medicine Children’s Health and the participating educational facility. The duration and timing of the internship will be arranged with the intern and the sponsoring educational facility. Essential Functions The essential functions listed are typical examples of work performed by positions in this job classification. Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct. Works across the organization to independently support identified transformational improvement programs and projects, utilizing improvement science practices. Ensures that improvement efforts are aligned with the wider organizational objectives. Collaborates with operational leadership and manages process improvement programs and projects that support various areas of the hospital. Utilizes various improvement science methods to support teams to solve problems. Incorporates improvement science and project management methods to particular programs and projects as appropriate. Applies high level of analytical skills to manipulate and analyze data and uses this data to make decisions and solve potential problems. Serves as a supporting resource for Performance Improvement Advisors in performance improvement efforts. Provides support and guidance to teams implementing improvement initiatives within the organization. In collaboration with applicable partners; creates communication and change management plans, for all types of stakeholders. In collaboration with applicable partners; develop and implement training around project deliverables that result in changes in process, procedures, policy, etc. Delivers clear and concise advice and responses in a pressured environment. A flexible and adaptable nature is required to respond to an often-changing direction and priorities and to effectively manage others. Analyzes work streams and data trends and identifies issues. Raises issues identified with Managers and Directors and collaborates to analyze alternatives to determine best outcomes. Participates actively in internal operational improvements within the Department. Performs other related and incidental duties as needed or assigned. Minimum Qualifications Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying. Education: Bachelor Degree, required. Recent graduate or current enrollment in an accredited Master Health Administration (MHA), Master Public Health (MPH), Master Business Administration (MBA), or comparable graduate degree program, required. Experience: None required License/Certification: None required Knowledge Ability to apply judgment and make sound decisions. Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work independently, and meet deadlines. Knowledge of Windows-based office software, computers and operating systems. Knowledge of research processes, data development, data analysis, syndicated data and consumer information resources. Experience in using effective project management tools and methods. Ability to conduct research, conduct analysis, reach conclusions, and present findings. Ability to perform business analytics, including data manipulation, reporting and analysis and able to present this to audience so they are able to understand the findings. Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels and in situations requiring instructing, persuading, negotiating, conflict resolution, consulting and advising, as well as flawless written communication. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with widely diverse groups, including individuals at all levels both within and outside the organization and gain their cooperation. Ability to conduct presentation and facilitate discussion in a group setting, in a confident and engaging manner. Ability to develop a working knowledge of key stakeholders to anticipate and respond to their varying needs. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives. Additional Information Pay Range Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role. Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, and as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.
