Facilities Manager

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to lead facilities operations for the USC School of Architecture. The role reports to the Associate Dean of Finance, works closely with the Dean and school leadership, and is based on the University Park Campus. This is a full‑time, permanent hybrid position (four days on campus, one day remote per week, subject to workflow). Responsibilities Supervise employees and student workers. Schedule, assign, and prioritize workloads; set deadlines and monitor performance to ensure timely completion. Coordinate with university departments, outside contractors, vendors, and the Public Safety Department for facilities operations, maintenance, construction, and renovation projects. Develop and administer the annual operating budget, review, authorize and monitor expenses for utilities, materials, supplies, repairs, maintenance, and project work; provide regular budget reports. Prepare long‑ and short‑term facility use plans, maintain analysis of space and equipment needs, and allocate usage based on departmental priorities. Collaborate with Student Services and faculty to schedule classroom, studio, lecture, and guest‑speaker spaces. Develop and implement deferred and preventative maintenance programs. Manage environmental health and safety programs; conduct safety inspections, provide equipment, and maintain compliance records. Conduct periodic security surveys, coordinate and resolve security concerns, and control facility access (key issuance and record maintenance). Inspect equipment and coordinate repairs or purchases. Maintain knowledge of space planning, technology projects, and alignment of infrastructure with capital investment priorities. Coordinate and monitor construction and renovation projects; provide cost and status reports. Act as Campus Security Authority and mandatory reporter under the Clery Act; receive and report crime incidents to Public Safety and the Clery Compliance Coordinator. Provide facilities coverage for School events and be available during emergencies. Perform other related duties as assigned; the university reserves the right to add or change duties. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience in facilities management. Related undergraduate study in business administration, facilities management, or a comparable field; combined experience and education may substitute for minimum education. Knowledge of space planning, maintenance programs, safety and security protocols, and construction project coordination. Salary and Benefits Annual salary range: $115,000 – $124,204.
