Key Responsibilities\n

• Provide individualized therapy sessions via telehealth, catering to the specific emotional and behavioral needs of each child and family.

• Facilitate group therapy sessions aimed at enhancing coping strategies, social skills, and anger management techniques.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on thorough assessments and ongoing evaluations.

• Collaborate extensively with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals, actively participating in multidisciplinary meetings to deliver holistic care.

• Document all client interactions meticulously, including treatment plans, progress notes, and necessary assessments, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

• Conduct bi-weekly or monthly follow-up sessions with families to assess progress and adjust treatment strategies as needed.

• Stay engaged with current practices in mental health therapy through ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position primarily serves children ranging from ages 3 to 20 who are experiencing developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Therapists will have the unique opportunity to support children presenting with a variety of needs, including those requiring behavioral interventions to manage high-risk behaviors and promote positive behavior support. The diversity of our clients means that therapists will engage with families from various cultural backgrounds, particularly those who are bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related mental health field is mandatory.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license in California is required.
\n
• Minimum commitment of 5-10 hours per week, primarily during after-school hours (4-7 PM); weekend availability is advantageous.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license and a registered vehicle is essential for potential travel to meet clients.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is required for all applicants.

Preferred Experience\n

Experience providing positive behavior support and having prior work with children possessing intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) is highly preferred. Familiarity with creating and executing behavior intervention plans and a background in working across multidisciplinary teams will enhance the effectiveness in this role and improve patient outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits\n
