Casa Cruz New York is seeking an exceptional Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team.
Occupying a historic six-story Beaux-Arts townhouse on Manhattan's Upper East Side, Casa Cruz is one of New York City's most distinctive dining destinations. Home to elegant dining rooms, sophisticated cocktail bars, private event spaces, and the neighborhood's only year-round rooftop, Casa Cruz delivers a luxury hospitality experience unlike any other.

Our culinary program blends refined technique with bold global influences. From Josper charcoal oven specialties and pristine seafood to elevated interpretations of classic Upper East Side favorites, every dish reflects a commitment to creativity, precision, and excellence.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and inspire hourly kitchen team members through service and preparation
  • Partner with the Executive Chef and culinary leadership team to execute exceptional dining experiences
  • Maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and safety
  • Manage inventory, ordering, receiving, and cost controls
  • Train, coach, and develop cooks at all levels
  • Ensure consistency across all service periods, private events, and rooftop operations
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Assist with menu development, recipe execution, and operational initiatives
  • Uphold all DOH, food safety, and sanitation standards
What We're Looking For
  • 2+ years of Sous Chef or culinary leadership experience in an upscale, fine dining, luxury hotel, or Michelin-caliber environment
  • Strong leadership presence with a hands-on management style
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Experience with high-volume service while maintaining meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of food costing, labor management, and inventory controls
  • Passion for mentorship and team development
  • NYC food handler certification preferred
