About the Position County of Colusa is recruiting for a Resident Deputy Sheriff to perform a variety of responsible law enforcement and crime prevention duties, including patrolling assigned areas, answering calls and complaints, and investigating crimes. This assignment is in the community of Stonyford. Responsibilities Perform law enforcement and crime prevention duties; patrol assigned areas; answer calls and complaints; investigate crimes. Qualifications One year of law enforcement experience desirable. Completion of the twelfth grade or equivalent. Current enrollment in or completion of a California Peace Officers Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Basic Academy, or possession of a Basic Certificate. Salary and Incentives Salary range consists of 15 steps. Steps 1‑6 are annual merit steps with approximately 5% difference between each step. Steps 7‑15 are additional merit steps requiring two years of satisfactory performance at the previous step. Steps 7‑14 provide 2.5% increases, while Step 15 offers a 5% increase. The final salary offered will depend on the applicant’s experience and qualifications, ranging from steps 1 to 15. Additional compensation includes 10% residential pay and up to 10% additional compensation for P.O.S.T. and educational incentives: 2.5% for an intermediate P.O.S.T. certificate or 5.0% for an advanced P.O.S.T. certificate; 2.5% for an associate’s degree (AA/AS) or 5% for a bachelor’s degree (BA/BS). #J-18808-Ljbffr County of Colusa
