A unique opportunity is available for a compassionate Special Education Teacher to support K-12 learners with mild to moderate needs in an engaging academic environment. This full-time, in-person contract role extends through the 2026-2027 school year, presenting the chance to make a direct impact by crafting and carrying out IEPs tailored to each student’s specific goals.
Required Credentials and Skills:
- Possess a valid Michigan Teaching Certification with a Special Education endorsement
- Prefer experience working with K-12 students with mild to moderate learning or behavioral challenges
- Demonstrate expert communication and collaboration skills, partnering with parents, staff, and service providers
- Strong knowledge of best practices in special education and an innovative, student-centered approach
- Maintain organized records and clear documentation in compliance with all regulations
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) designed to meet the unique needs of each student
- Deliver differentiated instruction in a small-group or one-on-one setting
- Monitor student progress, adjusting strategies and supports as needed for optimum learning
- Work collaboratively with general educators and related service personnel to create inclusive learning experiences
- Engage families and caregivers in the educational process and communicate student progress regularly
- Ensure a safe, encouraging classroom atmosphere that empowers every student to succeed
