CNC Okuma Lathe Operator
Location: Farmington Hills, MI | Shift: 7:00am-3:30pm | Pay: $18.00/hr
Job SummaryWe are seeking 2–3 dependable CNC Okuma Lathe Operators to join a manufacturing team producing precision pins, bushings, and other machined components. This position focuses on operating established CNC programs, monitoring production, and inspecting finished parts to ensure quality and accuracy. Full machine setup and independent programming are not required.
What You’ll Be Doing- Operate Okuma CNC lathes using established programs and setup instructions.
- Load and unload parts and monitor machining cycles.
- Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments.
- Verify parts meet required dimensions and machining tolerances.
- Identify and report quality issues, tooling concerns, and machine alarms.
- Work with setup personnel and supervisors to resolve production issues.
- Complete production records and inspection documentation accurately.
- Perform routine operator maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized.
- Follow all machine safety, material handling, and quality procedures.
- Previous CNC lathe operating experience preferred, especially with Okuma machines.
- Understanding of machining tolerances and part specifications.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work independently and follow established instructions.
- Setup and programming experience is a plus but not required.
- Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment around CNC machinery and production equipment.
- Ability to follow machine guarding and shop safety procedures.
