Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct detailed preliminary interviews to understand client histories and document cases from the initial consultation through to the treatment conclusion.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health through structured assessments and therapeutic conversations.

• Develop individualized treatment plans, including intervention strategies for individuals, couples, families, and groups, tailored to their specific needs.

• Facilitate productive individual and group therapy sessions, employing various therapeutic modalities to engage clients actively.

• Monitor and document client progress consistently, adapting treatment plans as necessary to reach therapeutic goals.

• Collaborate closely with fellow mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure holistic and integrated care.

• Follow up on clients referred for psychiatric care, maintaining open lines of communication with their healthcare team.

• Identify and address any behaviors or mental patterns that interfere with client recovery, adjusting strategies to enhance their resilience and coping mechanisms.

• Support family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges faced by their loved ones.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LPC, LCSW) in the state of Texas

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE)

• Prior experience working in mental health counseling settings
\n
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as AVATAR
\n
• Understanding of the intersection between physical health issues and mental health conditions, including experience with addiction disorders
\n
• Familiarity with best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA)

• Strong understanding of medications commonly prescribed for mental health conditions
\n
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to empathetically engage with clients

• Exemplary interpersonal skills and a genuine, compassionate demeanor
