Purpose of position:

Pay Structure

Our Furniture Retail Sales Associate pay structure is different in the sense that your pay rate is hourly but it can be just as rewarding if not more than a traditional, commission-based salary. As an hourly employee you have an opportunity to earn between $20-$45.00/ hour. ($41,600 - $93,600 annually) This pay scale is still based on performance, but by converting the pay to hourly it provides a way for our entire sales team to live with a more stable income (consistent, bi-weekly paychecks) resulting in less financial stress and unpredictability.

Responsibilities:

• Must be able to use and iPad and many technology platforms such as email, Microsoft office tools, etc.

• Be prepared to serve customer’s furniture related needs and wants at all times in a way that ends in a satisfied customer and a sale for The Furniture Mall of Texas.

• With management, set sales and service objectives monthly, annually and achieve those objectives. Example areas: Customer Success Rate, First time, Follow-up and Total close rates, Average sale, Items per ticket, Dollars sold, Fabric / warranty percentage etc.

• Meet minimum monthly objectives within 90 days.

• Be able to gain rapport, discover customer needs and satisfy those customer needs.

• Know product line features and benefits for all products on the sales floor.

• As a, Furniture Retail Sales Associates be knowledgeable of general principles of home decor and design i.e. furniture, accents, color schemes etc.

• Be knowledgeable of construction and comfort levels of all mattress models on the floor and be able to qualify and recommend the right match for your customer.

• Become a professional salesperson through the use of all selling principles including approach, rapport building, needs discovery, product presentations, answering objections, closing, follow-up, after the sale service and continuing contact with all potential customers.

• Make regular, planned follow-up calls on all customers who have delayed buying.

• Continue to improve professional selling skills through personal development in self study; making use of various resources (role-play, books, videos, self-study books, online courses, etc.).

• Furniture Retail Sales Associates must complete all paperwork related to sales and service promptly according to The Furniture Mall of Texas standards.

• Create new ideas that will help improve store image, sales and operations, and share them with The Furniture Mall of Texas management.

• Develop long-term customer relationships.

• Develop new customer leads through referrals from satisfied customers.

Additional job requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds without the aid of another

• Must be able to bend, stoop, push and pull in the performance of operational duties

• Must be able to sit or stand for up to eight hours at a time while performing work duties

• Must be able to work in various fumes, odors, chemical agents, and solvents

• Must be able to work in various temperatures and environmental conditions

• Must have vision and hearing corrected to be able to legally operate a vehicle under various environmental and traffic conditions

• Must be able to maintain balance and climb two to eight feet on a ladder in order to place accessories.

• Furniture Retail Sales Associates Must be able to maintain amicable work relationships with fellow employees and perform all essential job functions in an environment that will sometimes include increased levels of work-related stress

• Undertake and complete other work-related responsibilities as assigned by management

• Undertake and support any policy, change, system, or work rules the company implements regarding the purpose of this position
