Step into an impactful, full-time opportunity supporting K-12 students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic, onsite contract position beginning August 24, 2026, and ending June 10, 2027. This is more than a teaching assignment; it’s a chance to shape inclusive practices and mentoring new and returning staff within an engaged district.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Pennsylvania educator certification in Special Education or a related field
- Proven track record implementing evidence-based practices for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Direct experience in autism support or special education classroom environments
- Must have completed all required PA clearances prior to start date
- Experience in a school setting and with urban populations is essential
- Must be able to work onsite, between 7:15 AM and 4 PM, with no schedule flexibility available
- Reliable transportation required
- Confidence and adaptability in navigating district environments
- Participation in a Zoom interview required
Primary Responsibilities:
- Train new staff on general instructional approaches for students with Autism, including modeling within live classroom settings
- Provide ongoing refresher and behavior-specific plan trainings for all staff
- Establish and help generalize Verbal Repertoires (VRs) for students across classrooms
- Facilitate and coach educators on IEPs, BIPs, and updated procedural best practices
- Work closely with PaTTAN consultants to align practices with district-wide implementation frameworks
- Coach teachers directly in classrooms, ensuring evidence-based methods are used with fidelity
- Oversee the transfer of effective instructional skills district-wide, supporting both anchor and autism support classrooms
- Provide constructive feedback and monitor ongoing implementation
