As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government transit location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and respond professionally to evolving situations. Position Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $34.70 - $35.70 / Hour Job Schedule: Fri 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM; Sun 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM What You’ll Do: Provide customer service to transit passengers, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate. Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, stations, entrances, perimeter areas, and other assigned locations to help deter unauthorized activity. Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify credentials when required, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, or policy violations. Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with appropriate transit personnel and public emergency responders. Prepare accurate reports and maintain required documentation for patrol activities, incidents, observations, and other security-related matters. Minimum Requirements: Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client. A Law Enforcement Officer License is required. An Armed Guard Card or License is preferred. Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Participate in industry-specific security training programs. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
