Work Environment

Our Falls Church facility is equipped with state-of-the-art rehabilitation tools and technology designed to facilitate optimal patient outcomes. Located in a vibrant neighborhood, our center fosters a warm and welcoming atmosphere, encouraging teamwork and active collaboration among healthcare professionals. This onsite position typically follows a consistent schedule from either 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, promoting work-life balance and giving our therapists the space to thrive both personally and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients in various home care and onsite settings, assessing their physical condition and determining their rehabilitation needs.
• Design individualized treatment plans that utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques, including exercise regimens, manual therapy, and the use of specialized equipment.
• Implement treatment interventions aimed at pain relief, improved mobility, and rehabilitation following surgical procedures or injuries.
• Regularly monitor and document patient progress, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of their responses to therapy.
• Engage in ongoing assessment and reevaluation of therapeutic goals, adapting treatment plans as necessary to meet evolving patient needs.
• Advise and assist patients in selecting and utilizing assistive devices to enhance their self-care and mobility.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on effective physical therapy techniques, lifestyle modifications, and ongoing care requirements to support recovery.
• Participate in professional development through workshops, networking, and continuing education opportunities to stay current in best practices in physical therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physical Therapist at Carilion, you will work with a diverse patient population that includes individuals of all ages recovering from a wide range of conditions. You will serve patients dealing with orthopedic injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, neurological disorders, chronic pain issues, and other musculoskeletal challenges. Your role will be vital in creating tailored rehabilitation strategies that address their specific needs, ultimately aiding them in achieving their therapeutic goals and enhancing their daily functionalities.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• A valid state license in Physical Therapy is mandatory.
• At least two years of relevant experience in a clinical setting.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with patients and multidisciplinary team members.
• Proficient in computer skills necessary for patient documentation and treatment planning.
• A flexible and agile approach to adapt to changing patient needs and conditions.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a home health care environment is advantageous but not required.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
