District Sales Manager

The District Sales Manager (DSM) leads the sales efforts and execution of the company’s strategic goals within a defined district. This position is accountable for managing Sales Representatives and Independent Sales Agencies (ISAs), ensuring business growth, budget attainment, and alignment with company standards and expectations. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Lead the team in identifying and capitalizing on sales opportunities. Develop and monitor annual district plans; review progress bi-weekly. Ensure CRM adoption and use through bi-weekly pipeline reviews. Support Sales Representatives in executing automated business development plans. Achieve or exceed sales targets aligned with district growth potential. Maintain adherence to expense policies and district budget guidelines. Lead sales activities related to promotions, training, and installation quality. Implement strategic and operational district plans. Recommend staffing and strategic changes to the Regional Sales Manager. Recruit, develop, and motivate a high-performing team. Conduct annual performance reviews and facilitate career development. Coordinate with the technical department to resolve issues and identify needs. Manage site visits, client support, and training initiatives. Facilitate relationships between company reps, ISAs, and customers. Communicate company goals clearly across the team. Monitor performance via CRM and manage resources efficiently. Track industry trends and adjust strategies as needed. Provide insights to Regional Sales Manager on pricing, technical needs, and trends. Foster relationships with direct customers, distributors, and industry professionals. Represent the company in the community and industry events. Serve as liaison for market feedback and technical communications. Inspire buy-in, set clear goals, and encourage accountability. Distribute workloads fairly and monitor team performance. Provide continuous coaching and feedback through ride-alongs and evaluations. Review budgets and action items monthly. Host regular team meetings and one-on-ones to foster team development. Provide quarterly feedback and annual appraisals for direct reports and Independent Sales Agents. Other responsibilities as assigned by manager. Minimum Qualifications 5+ years of sales and leadership experience in building materials. Track record of exceeding sales targets. Solid understanding of manufacturing and distribution processes. Knowledge of the competitive landscape for the assigned district. Proficiency in CRM platforms and sales reporting tools. Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Organizational, time management, project management, and problem-solving abilities. Effective communicator with strong coaching, team building, and leadership skills. Working Conditions and/or Physical Demands Frequent travel throughout the district, and occasional travel to Wadsworth, OH, other areas of the United States, and Canada. Ability to lift 50 lbs, fly in an airplane, drive long distances, and navigate stairs/ladders. Daily work schedule can vary depending on circumstances, including occasional evenings/weekends.
