Unit ManagerAn established, mission-driven healthcare organization in Connecticut is seeking a seasoned, clinically strong Unit Manager (RN) to oversee clinical and operational standards across two downstairs long-term care / skilled nursing units.Reporting directly to the Director of Nursing (DON), the Unit Manager carries 24/7 clinical and administrative accountability for their designated units. Working a primary schedule of Monday through Friday (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM), you will lead unit nursing staff, drive clinical quality standards, direct resident care planning, manage family/physician relations, and maintain strict state and federal regulatory compliance across your caseload.Key ResponsibilitiesHold comprehensive clinical and administrative management responsibility for two downstairs resident care unitsLead daily unit operations to ensure continuous compliance with Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) regulations, CMS guidelines, and QAPI performance metricsOversee comprehensive resident care plans, attending physician rounds, MDS assessments, skin/wound management programs, and hospital readmission prevention strategiesManage, evaluate, and mentor floor RNs, LPNs, and CNAs; collaborate closely with the Daytime RN Desk Nurse / Assistant Unit Manager to balance daily unit workflowsServe as the primary point of escalation for attending physicians, specialty providers, residents, and family members regarding clinical care and treatment plansConduct root-cause analyses for fall incidents, medication errors, or skin integrity changes; implement corrective action plans and required regulatory documentationQualifications & RequirementsCurrent, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Connecticut requiredMinimum of 3+ years of clinical nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care (LTC) setting, with at least 1 to 2 years in a formal leadership roleDeep expertise in LTC clinical regulations, infection control, wound management, care planning processes, and DPH survey preparationAdvanced proficiency with Electronic Medical Record systems (e.g., PointClickCare) for care management, auditing, and physician order oversightExceptional leadership presence with proven ability to coach floor staff, communicate clearly with families, and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teamsComprehensive Benefits PackageComprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage options with robust employee well-being and support resourcesEmployer-sponsored 403(b) retirement plan offering Traditional and Roth options with a 100% match up to 2% of contributions (plus an additional 1% match potential based on eligibility)Generous accrued PTO program combining vacation, personal, and sick time, with accrual rates based on length of serviceAccrues at 1 hour per 30 hours worked (up to 40 hours annually)6 paid company holidays per yearAnnual course and tuition reimbursement of up to $4,000 per year for eligible full-time employeesIf you are a dedicated Registered Nurse seeking a high-impact leadership role in Connecticut, we would love to connect with you!
