As a Principal Information Security Systems Engineer (ISSE) at Serco, you will collaborate with a dynamic team on applications for the Defense Information System Agency (DISA) military cloud. This role is essential in enhancing military defense planning and combat readiness, and an active U.S. Department of War (DoW) Secret security clearance is required. Serco supports the U.S. Navy through our Integrated Readiness Modeling and Technical and Professional Support Services contract. Our team conducts thorough analysis and provides software development and lifecycle support for a portfolio of integrated applications used by the Navy to assess future fleet readiness requirements. In this role, your responsibilities will include: Coordinating Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) and Department of Defense (DoD) Risk Management Framework (RMF) efforts. Monitoring and maintaining security controls and Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms) for multiple cloud applications. Conducting vulnerability scans and implementing resolutions. Processing eMASS workflows for cloud applications and maintaining Authority to Operate systems. Developing necessary use cases and coordinating team security training. Working with the Navy Qualified Validator to address control findings. Ensuring security documents are current and providing inputs for reports. Creating and maintaining security documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in accordance with NIST revisions. Conducting periodic and continuous monitoring for compliance. Participating in the change management process for security impact assessments. Monitoring system recovery processes to ensure security features are restored post‑outage. Coordinating information assurance program controls according to DoD requirements. Identifying deficiencies and providing actionable recommendations; tracking findings with POA&Ms throughout mitigation or risk acceptance. To thrive in this position, you should possess: An active Secret security clearance. A Bachelor's degree in telecommunications, computer science, information systems management, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience with information networks and security issues. At least 4 years of experience with RMF tools including eMASS. DoD 8570.1 / DoD 8140.01 (IAT II Level certification). Experience with various IA tools for audits and endpoint protection (HBSS, MDE/MDI). Additional preferred qualifications include: COMPTIA Security+ certification or higher. Experience with Splunk Enterprise operations; Splunk certifications are highly desired. Serco is an equal opportunity employer.
