Hours Part‑time nights, 7 p‑7 a on weekends starting on Friday (24 hrs per week). Responsibilities Medication administration and implementation of respiratory care using expanded knowledge, experience, and the evaluate‑and‑treat process. Delivery of patient care in complex, multiple‑problem patient situations, with a focus on critical care and protocol ventilator management. Independent decision‑making and self‑direction in patient care. Patient, family/support system education and coordination of activities, staff development, and professional growth. Delivery of patient care with an understanding of population‑specific needs, addressing biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial, and educational aspects. Participation in the education of new employees and others. Customer Service Completion of patient care, documentation, and education. Team approach to service, promoting a team spirit and a positive work environment. Supportive environment for students and staff. Quality Patient Care Patient assessment and therapy assessment. Collaboration with health‑care team members in planning patient care. Verification and administration of aerosolized medication, bronchial hygiene, volume expansion, oxygen and medical gas therapy. Ventilator management, weaning, waveform graphic interpretation, airway management (intubation, extubation, tracheal tube change and care). Arterial blood gas sampling and analysis. Education of patients and mentorship/precepting of new employees, students, and peers. Location Specific Tasks Assisting in invasive and non‑invasive procedures, Cardiac Service procedures, Pulmonary Diagnostic Testing. Safe & Quality Environment Promotion of current and accurate electronic orders, charting and charging. Maintenance of high patient safety standards (Medication Safety, NPSG, etc.). Support of performance improvement initiatives designed to promote quality care. Use of evidence‑based practice and review of revised and new DPPs. Required Minimum Experience 0‑2 years clinical experience with at least 6 months in critical care. Required Minimum Skills Excellent communication, critical thinking, and relationship‑building skills with physicians and other health‑care professionals. Computer skills, including familiarity with databases. Strong customer relation, assessment, and communication skills. Required Minimum Licensing and Certification Registered Respiratory Therapy – Required. Respiratory Care Profession – Required. Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required. BLS‑Instructor – Required. BLS‑Provisional – Required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Required. ACLS‑Instructor – Required. ACLS‑Provisional – Required.
