As the first point of contact within the lab workflow, this position ensures specimens are ready and accurate for processing and testing.

Key Position Details:

• 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week pay period)
• 8-hour permanent evening shifts
• Every 3rd rotation
• Located at the Allina Health Central Lab and will not have any patient contact

Job Description:

Performs laboratory functions such as waived testing, assisting with standard operating procedure and work flow development, and training of new staff. Supports one or more of the following work areas: laboratory reception/registration, specimen collection (i.e. venipuncture, capillary, cultures, and chain of custody); processing of specimens, and supply ordering.

Principle Responsibilities

• Performs routine laboratory procedures within established guidelines.
• Accurate and timely processing of specimens.
• Performs customer service in lab reception.
• Maintains safety, education, and competency requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• High School or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 to 5 years experience in phlebotomy

Licenses/Certifications:

• Phlebotomy Certification upon hire preferred

Physical Demands:

• Light Work:
• Lifting weight up to 20 lbs. occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequently

Pay Range:

$22.84 to $28.85 per hourThe pay described reflects the base hourly pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
