Job Title: Inpatient Pharmacist

Location: Hood River, OR
Duration: 8 Weeks (Potential Extension)
Schedule: Day Shift | 07:30 AM – 05:00 PM
Compensation: $2,300 – $3,100 Weekly (Based on Experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacist to provide comprehensive pharmacy services within a hospital setting. The pharmacist will be responsible for medication order verification, clinical review, dispensing, and collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Responsibilities

• Verify, review, and dispense medications in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Perform clinical medication reviews to ensure accuracy, safety, and appropriate therapy.
• Support safe medication management across inpatient units.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy recommendations.
• Participate in patient care activities and provide pharmaceutical expertise in a high-acuity healthcare environment.
• Utilize Epic EMR and pharmacy information systems for documentation and medication management.
• Maintain compliance with patient safety initiatives, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with formulary management and medication-related problem resolution.

Schedule & Assignment Details

• 8-week contract with possibility of extension.
• Day shift schedule: 07:30 AM – 05:00 PM.
• Weekend coverage required.
• Block scheduling required.
• On-call responsibilities required for overnight pharmacist coverage.
• No floating between units.
• 48-hour workweeks not approved.

Required Qualifications

• Active Oregon Pharmacist License.
• Previous inpatient hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Experience using Epic EMR strongly preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a critical access hospital environment.
• Strong clinical judgment, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Commitment to patient safety and quality care.
