The Montrose Group, LLC is a Columbus, Ohio-based consulting firm that provides corporate site location, economic development planning, and lobbying services. The Montrose Group offers a multi-disciplinary team of senior economic development and lobbying leaders including Dave Robinson, Principal and Founder; Nate Green, Managing Manager of Economic Development; Tim Biggam, Manager of Government Relations; Wade Williams, Manager of Economic Development; Ryan Scribner, Manager of Economic Development; and Harrison Crume, Manager of Economic Development. The Montrose Group has offices in Columbus and Cincinnati, Ohio. The Job. The Montrose Group is seeking a Manager of Economic Development in either their Cincinnati or Columbus offices that has experience in the day-to-day operation of economic development programs, strong interpersonal communication skills, is a problem solver, and has strong research and writing skills. The Manager will serve public and private sector clients, participate in regular team calls to manage client services, and market the company’s services. Compensation will be estimated at $80,000 to $100,000 annually, plus a performance-based bonus and a 401(k) plan after one year of service. The Duties. The Manager of Economic Development will serve clients with corporate site location, economic development advisory, economic development planning, land use entitlements and incentives, and project financing matters. Corporate Site Location. Provide corporate site location services such as market, workforce, housing, site development, cost of doing business analysis, incentive negotiations, and incentive reporting. Economic Development Advisory. Provide advisory services to communities to implement economic development programs including project management, incentive reporting and negotiations, business retention and expansion, site consultant outreach, marketing and communications, housing, industrial and office park development, and Brownfield redevelopment. Economic Development Planning. Provide strategic planning services through research and writing, community listening sessions and action plans, and creation of site, downtown redevelopment district, workforce, housing, industrial park, incubator, office park development, and other economic development strategic plans. Requires experience in GIS mapmaking. Land Use Entitlements and Incentives. Provide negotiations and advocacy services for land use entitlement and economic development incentive services for companies and developers. Project Financing. Provide assistance to public and private sector clients in securing project financing for industrial parks, public infrastructure, residential developments, technology centers, and other economic development projects. Marketing Services. Provide marketing services for the Montrose Group including developing a marketing list, supporting the Annual Montrose Group’s Economic Development Program, general marketing of the company, and developing a biographical profile for use on the company’s website and proposals.
