Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, you will take on a variety of responsibilities aimed at supporting and improving the mental health outcomes of your clients:

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess the intensity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms in clients, employing standardized assessment tools.

• Collaborate with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that align with their individual goals, needs, and preferences, ensuring a client-centered approach.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to effectively address mood disorders like depression and anxiety.

• Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, and effective self-care strategies to empower them on their recovery journey.

• Monitor client progress meticulously, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to reflect changes in their circumstances and mental health status.

• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure an integrated approach to client care, addressing both mental and physical health needs.

• Stay informed about the latest research and developments in mood disorder treatment to continually enhance the efficacy of therapeutic strategies used in practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your practice will focus on a diverse clientele, particularly individuals experiencing mood disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. You will also engage with various vulnerable populations, including homeless individuals, refugees, and survivors of domestic abuse, offering them the support and resources necessary to heal and thrive.

Qualifications\n

• Current and active State of Illinois license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field from an accredited program.
