10 Month Secretary - High School Counseling Secretary JobID: 2362 Position Type: Secretarial/Clerical/ Secretary - 10 month Date Posted: 5/11/2026 Location: Perrysburg High School Date Available: August 3, 2026 Closing Date: 05/15/2026 10 Month Secretary: High School Counseling Secretary Full time, 206 day contract, 7 hours per day – Monday – Friday – 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (hours subject to change) $18.11 per hour Title: 10‑Month Secretary Counseling HS Reports To: Principal, Assistant Principal Employment Status: Full Time FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt Qualifications 1. Valid driver’s license and BCII clearance. 2. High school diploma; Associate’s degree preferred. 3. High degree of proficiency in word processing, database management and office procedures. Proficient in current software. Familiarity with computer graphics preferred. 4. Able to get along with staff, public, etc.; be courteous, polite and considerate. 5. Professional tact, diplomacy and presentation with administrators, staff, teachers, students, parents and the community. 6. Conscientious and assumes responsibility for own work performance. 7. Demonstrate appropriate dress and attire for a business office setting. 8. Possess certification or be willing to be trained in CPR and AED equipment operation. 9. Must be physically able to lift up to 40 pounds. 10. Be in good health, have high moral character and hold a strong attendance record. 11. Demonstrate enthusiasm and a sincere desire to aid all students. General Description Serve as secretary and registrar for the counseling office and perform such duties to assure the accurate and efficient operation of the office. Essential Functions Maintain respect at all times for confidential information. Perform duties of receptionist and maintain a pleasant attitude. Perform duties of registrar in an efficient manner. Evaluate, assess and connect students with proper personnel. Receive a variety of questions and requests and see that such matters are disposed of promptly, correctly and tactfully. Effectively operate various office machines. Prepare and maintain adequate files for the counselors. Process all records for alumni, current and new students. Conduct important contacts with the public/community and others requiring tact and diplomacy. Receive telephone calls, respond appropriately and correctly and make proper disposition of such. Arrange/record appointments for students, parents, school personnel and visitors with counselors, college advisor, CRC counselor, school psychologist, and testing personnel. Contact students for conferences with counselors. Prepare correspondence, reports and communications and request guidance literature as designated by counselors. Responsible for scheduling appointments for school counselors and the college advisor. Responsible for total record keeping and/or obtaining students' school entrance, transfer and withdrawal records; forwarding copies to other offices for county records. Execute testing responsibilities (AP, EOC, SAT, PSAT with Assistant Principal). Maintain/update guidance literature on bulletin boards in the counseling office and halls. Responsible for notifying teachers of transfer students' grades/credits earned. Maintain adequate and accurate inventory of supplies for the efficient operation of the school office. Responsible for accurate and efficient enrollment and withdrawal of students. Process and enter student scholarship applications. Accurately and efficiently enter EMIS coding each semester after schedules are set. Other Duties and Responsibilities Serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings. Help instill in students the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values. Conduct other job duties related to the secretary's duties as assigned by the counselors or principal. Additional Working Conditions Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue. Occasional interaction among unruly children. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.
