Staff Accountant

A privately held organization in the Charlotte area is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its growing team. Key Responsibilities Core Accounting & Reporting Work on day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to GAAP. Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, AP/AR, and support schedules. Consolidation of data from multiple locations in the Carolinas. Work with the leadership team with the development of the yearly budget. Perform variance analysis and provide explanations for financial fluctuations. Handle billing discrepancies and communicate with customers when necessary. Communicate regularly with the companies CPA firm. Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance reporting accuracy. Support system enhancements, automation initiatives, and documentation of procedures. Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, etc. Supervisory & Leadership Serve as a resource for technical accounting questions and problem-solving. Help build a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture. Qualifications 3+ years of experience, ideally working for a private company. Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls. Advanced Excel and systems skills. Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and organizational abilities. #J-18808-Ljbffr CAROLINA PRG
