Work Environment

You will be working in a fast-paced Surgical Center, characterized by a dynamic environment that prioritizes immediate and impactful patient care. The typical schedule will be from Monday to Friday, encompassing a 40-hour workweek starting at 5:00 PM. This schedule allows for a structured work-life balance while ensuring coverage during peak hours of patient activity.

Key Responsibilities

• Responding promptly to trauma alerts, assessing patients' conditions, and initiating necessary interventions.
• Stabilizing patients in critical situations and delivering immediate care to prevent further deterioration.
• Assisting in resuscitation efforts by providing essential life-saving interventions during emergencies.
• Collaborating with supervising physicians and healthcare staff to coordinate inter-professional care for trauma patients.
• Conducting thorough physical examinations and interpreting diagnostic results to inform treatment plans.
• Administering medications and treatments as ordered by physicians, adhering to protocols for safety and efficacy.
• Assisting with invasive procedures and wound management, utilizing up-to-date medical practices.
• Providing comprehensive education to patients and their families regarding trauma care and recovery processes.
• Facilitating the transfer of trauma patients to appropriate units or specialized facilities when necessary.
• Monitoring and managing patient pain and comfort, ensuring an optimal healing environment.
• Maintaining strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety measures in trauma care settings.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary patient population includes individuals suffering from acute injuries and trauma emergencies. Your role as a Physician Assistant will directly influence patient outcomes, facilitating both immediate interventions and long-term rehabilitation strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, followed by completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant.
• Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• 1 year of relevant experience in emergency medicine or trauma care preferred.
• Ability to perform trauma assessments and stabilization protocols effectively.
• Excellent clinical and diagnostic skills, particularly in trauma evaluations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for patient interaction and team collaboration.
• Capacity to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while remaining calm and efficient.
• Proficient in documenting patient care, treatment plans, and adhering to electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Preferred Experience

• Previous hands-on experience in emergency settings or trauma care.

Compensation and Benefits
