Medical Receptionist - Dermatology

Medical Receptionist - Dermatology We are seeking a customer-focused *Medical Receptionist* to support a busy Dermatology practice. This role is responsible for scheduling appointments, managing incoming calls, assisting patients, and providing front desk support in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Responsibilities
* Answer and manage a high-volume, multi-line phone system.
* Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments.
* Verify and update insurance, demographic, and registration information.
* Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and follow-up appointments.
* Check in and register patients.
* Collect co-pays and patient payments.
* Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic health record (EHR).
* Complete administrative work queues and daily reconciliation tasks.
* Provide front desk coverage and exceptional customer service.
Qualifications
* Experience in medical scheduling, patient access, medical reception, or healthcare customer service preferred.
* Experience in a high-volume healthcare setting.
* Epic or other EHR experience preferred.
* Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
* Detail-oriented with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
* Team player with a proactive, patient-focused approach.
*Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of Norfolk, VA.
*Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
