Speech Language Pathologist - SLP / Speech & Language Therapist
Transform Lives Through Communication in the Vibrant City of Atlanta – Become Our Next Speech Language Pathologist
Imagine a career where every day brings the opportunity to give voice to those who need it most. As a Speech Language Pathologist based in the lively metropolis of Atlanta, your work extends far beyond addressing communication and swallowing challenges. Here, you will ignite potential, inspire confidence, and foster meaningful connections among the young and the elderly alike — from eager toddlers practicing their first phrases to resilient seniors rediscovering their independence.
This position offers a rewarding chance to engage with a diverse clientele, including individuals of all ages, within a setting that harmoniously integrates outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient support. Whether your heart lies in nurturing early childhood language acquisition, addressing adult neurological communication difficulties, or facilitating cognitive recovery in aged patients, you will find a sense of purpose and adaptability in your work.
Description
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using established evaluative measures and personal observations.
- Tailor treatment plans to meet individual patient needs, focusing on relevant short- and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication, language skills, fluency, voice clarity, and swallowing capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with a team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to create cohesive care strategies that encompass the patient's needs.
- Provide valuable education to patients and families to support progress beyond clinical encounters.
- Assist with inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions as needed, ensuring a smooth continuum of care throughout the treatment process.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation that adheres to state, federal, and local standards.
- Engage in ongoing education and collaborative efforts with peers to stay abreast of innovations in the field.
Education
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those not yet holding ASHA certification.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days post-hire.
Skills
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods applicable to all age groups, with a thorough understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Capacity to modify therapy approaches to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient in electronic medical records and documentation requirements.
Benefits
- A competitive salary reflective of experience.
- Flexible work schedules to enhance work-life balance and accommodate varying caseloads.
- Pathways to specialize in pediatric services, adult neurological rehabilitation, or geriatric care.
- Paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
- Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and life insurance options.
- Support for continuing education and professional growth.
- A collaborative, team-oriented atmosphere dedicated to providing quality care and ongoing learning.
A Journey of Impact Awaits
In this role, you won't merely deliver speech therapy — you will join a mission-driven community focused on enhancing communication, nurturing relationships, and creating moments of joy through the simplest yet profound human interactions: understanding one another.
You will be part of a caring team that feels like family, where collaboration is valued over competition. Every patient has a unique story; we trust you to assist in shaping those narratives.
