• Hours/Week: 36 hours/week (4 days one week, 3 days the next)
• Employment Type: Travel RN
• Licenses/Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP (preferred)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years PICU experience; cross-training in Adult ICU/Med/Tele preferred

• Pay Rate: $53.60/hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide high-quality critical care to pediatric patients with various diagnoses, including MS, DKA, sepsis, respiratory failure, and post-operative neuro and ortho cases
• Titrate critical meds such as pressors, insulin, heparin, and sedation agents
• Collect peripheral blood draws and manage central lines
• Titrate and monitor telemetry, wounds, drains, and wound vacs
• Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, RTs, and other care team members 24/7
• Support patient safety with specific skills like PIV insertion, CVL management, and wound care
• Adapt to unit needs, including floating to Adult ICU or Med/Tele, with prior approval if comfortable
• Follow hospital protocols using Meditech Expanse system

What You Need:

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure
• Minimum 2 years PICU experience
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS; NRP preferred
• Strong skills in titrating and managing critical meds, telemetry, and invasive procedures
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to start
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
