The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek an academic cardiologist with clinical or translational research program in cardiac inflammation to join the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.

Position Overview

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible cardiac inflammation physician/physician-scientist with an extramurally funded clinical or translational research program to join an elite team of academic physicians at the assistant, associate, or full professor rank. The successful candidate will focus on leading the Cardiac Inflammation Program building research across cardiovascular disease disciplines focus on both routine and complex cardiovascular care, including inpatient and outpatient consultative and primary services in a world-class facility at the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital. The Ohio State University Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is setting new standards for advanced heart and vascular care through our internationally and nationally recognized experts of more than 60 cardiology and vascular medicine specialists. We offer heart and vascular patients some of the most exciting and innovative technologies, treatments, and clinical trials, many of which are only available at Ohio State. Most of our faculty are principal investigators on various research projects in both the basic, translational, and clinical research settings.

Requirements

  • Board Eligible/Certified
  • Successful completion of a US-accredited cardiology fellowship
  • Eligible for an Ohio License
  • Clinical or Translational Extramurally funded research preferred
  • Qualify for an academic appointment at The Ohio State University Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with previous training and experience

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, comprised of over 60 cardiologists with focus areas to include: general cardiology, interventional, electrophysiology, adult congenital heart disease, heart failure, heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory assist, pulmonary vascular disease, women's cardiovascular disease, cardiac MRI/CT, and cardio-oncology. The Division is affiliated with the Ross Heart Hospital, which ranked as "Best Hospital" in the top 50 in the nation as reported by US News and World Report. In addition to the 60 cardiologists, there are six fellowship programs: core cardiovascular medicine fellowship, interventional cardiology fellowship, electrophysiology fellowship, heart failure and cardiac transplant fellowship, adult congenital heart disease fellowship, and cardiovascular diagnostic imaging fellowship. The division provides services in over 12 counties in Ohio and Kentucky.
