Job Title

Registered Nurse – Stroke/Neuro PCU (IMC/Stepdown)

Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM); 4x12 available by request | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a telemetry PCU setting specializing in stroke, neurology, and hospitalist medicine patients on a Joint Commission certified primary stroke unit
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response interventions
• Administer IV therapy, blood products, and cardiac drips (no titration required); manage central and peripheral line care
• Provide respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Manage IV drips including Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, Amiodarone, Nitro, Lidocaine, Ketamine, and low-dose vasopressors
• Float within skillset as needed and adhere to isolation precautions across PCU, IMC, and stepdown settings

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia State RN license or active Compact RN license required; pending license accepted only for candidates holding a single-state license from a non-compact state
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Neuro PCU or stepdown clinical experience required
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records required
• Demonstrated experience with telemetry, cardiac drip management, phlebotomy, and IV therapy
• Ability to meet weekend requirements (every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week block) and work at least one holiday per 13-week contract

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Experience in a Magnet-designated or Level I Trauma Center environment
• Familiarity with remote telemetry monitoring and tele-sitting workflows
