Certified School Nurse Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to serve as a vital member of a dedicated educational community, working on a contract basis for the upcoming school year. The assignment will run from early August 2026 through late May 2027, offering a consistent, full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week.

This position is for a Certified School Nurse, and responsibilities are multifaceted: you’ll oversee the health office, conduct essential medical reviews, and play an active role in IEP and 504 meetings. All duties are integrated within one cohesive role, ensuring student well-being is approached holistically. Candidates should be comfortable with a process that emphasizes in-person interviews.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Certified School Nurse (CSN) credential preferred
• Prior experience in school nursing or similar pediatric settings highly valued
• Comprehensive understanding of IEP and 504 procedures
• Proven ability to manage a busy health office independently
• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
• Willingness to commit to the full contract duration

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day nursing care and manage acute/chronic health conditions for students
• Conduct thorough medical reviews and maintain accurate health records
• Collaborate with educators and specialists in IEP and 504 team meetings
• Develop care plans aligned with student needs and school policies
• Educate staff, students, and families on health topics and prevention strategies

Compensation for this position ranges from $28.00 to $45.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
