Employee Benefits Account Manager

Employee Benefits Account Manager Primary role: Works collaboratively with the Producer, Account Executive and Account Administrator managing a book of business. Coordinates and provides day‑to‑day service for employee‑benefits clients by maintaining client relationships, supporting client retention, maintaining strong carrier relationships and understanding client needs. Serves as day‑to‑day contact and resolves client questions and issues. Responsibilities Maintain client relationships and support client retention. Build and maintain strong carrier relationships and understand client needs. Collaborate on delivering multi‑year strategic plans. Manage projects with clients, including vendor implementation. Provide benchmarking reports to clients (annually, quarterly or monthly). Manage claims and coverage issue resolution for clients’ employees when escalated from HR. Assist with client billing and eligibility audits; conduct audits independently when necessary. Advise clients on compliance matters and send monthly compliance reports. Facilitate preparation of open‑enrollment packets, SBCs and disclosure notices. Create employee‑benefit booklets and develop open‑enrollment presentations and webinars. Order supplies from carriers, review for accuracy. Manage new carrier, plan or vendor implementation, including benefits‑administration system build‑out and project management. Install and update client‑specific data in BenefitPoint. Perform contract reviews and facilitate preparation of SPD Wraps, Cafeteria, and POP Plan documents. Facilitate 5500 preparation and maintain master group files, client contact sheets and carrier files. Handle renewal preparation. Assist in the RFP process as needed (proposal development, census, online quoting, marketing). Mentor Account Administrator/Assistant Plan Analyst where applicable. Coordinate client contact changes with Producer/Account Executive. Organize client meetings with other team members. Ensure clients are aware of HUB resources. Attend industry‑related continuing education training and courses. Follow HUB Broker Standards. Key Competencies Team Work – Supports all organizational departments collaboratively. Written Communication – Writes clearly, edits for spelling and grammar, varies style, presents numerical data. Initiative – Volunteers readily, undertakes self‑development, seeks increased responsibilities, takes independent actions, looks for opportunities. Quality Management – Demonstrates attention to detail. Project Management – Leads and contributes to teams, adheres to deadlines. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school or equivalent acceptable for general roles. Experience: 2–5 years of related experience as an Account Manager or Account Representative in the employee‑benefits arena (equivalent education/experience acceptable).
