Job Title: Manufacturing Assembler (Entry-Level)

Job Description

This role is a hands-on manufacturing assembler position in a production facility, focused on building structural components such as walls, floors, trusses, stairs, and similar assemblies in an indoor, roofed environment. You will work on your feet throughout the shift, using tape measures, hand tools, power tools, nail guns, table saws, and other shop equipment to meet production quotas while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. You will collaborate in small teams at various stations to assemble wall panels and trusses in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Build walls, floors, trusses, stairs, and other structural components in a manufacturing setting under roofed facilities.
• Use tape measures accurately, including reading measurements down to 1/8 of an inch, to ensure precise cuts and assemblies.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, nail guns, table saws, and other shop tools safely and efficiently as part of daily production work.
• Work as part of a team of 3–4 assemblers at designated stations to construct wall panels and trusses according to production requirements.
• Follow established safety programs, protocols, and procedures at all times to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
• Meet daily and weekly production quotas while upholding quality standards for all assembled components.
• Lift materials and components weighing up to 75 pounds as needed, typically a few times per shift.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area within the manufacturing shop and support overall facility cleanliness.
• Provide and properly use basic personal tools such as a tool belt, tape measure, and utility knife during assembly tasks.
• Participate in required orientation and training, including reviewing the virtual tour of the shop and position prior to starting.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to identify and resolve basic mechanical or assembly issues that arise during production.
• Adhere to shift schedules and work up to 50 hours per week, including built-in and voluntary overtime when needed to support production demands.

Essential Skills

• Ability to accurately read a tape measure down to 1/8 of an inch and successfully pass a tape measure test.
• At least 3 months of experience using nail guns and saws in a construction, manufacturing, or similar environment.
• Experience working with a variety of hand tools and power tools in a mechanical or construction setting.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with assembly processes and basic mechanical operations.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-oriented team environment.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally, typically 2–3 times per shift.
• Ability to work approximately 50 hours per week, including extended shifts and regular overtime.
• Willingness to provide basic tools on the first day or purchase them on site with cost deducted from the first paycheck.
• Willingness to review and confirm completion of the virtual tour of the shop and position before starting.
• Comfort working in rough carpentry, truss assembly, and general labor tasks related to commercial construction and framing.
• Ability to perform assembly line and mechanical assembly work using nail guns, table saws, and other machines.
• Basic understanding of construction or manufacturing environments, including safe forklift and machine operation (if applicable).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Framing or general construction experience is a plus.
• Blueprint reading experience is a plus.
• Experience in commercial construction, truss work, or field installation is beneficial.
• in mechanical work, general labor, or assembly line production is advantageous.
• Comfort working with forklifts and machine operation in a manufacturing setting is helpful.
• Ability to work effectively in both English or Spanish-speaking environments, with accommodations available for orientation, training, and daily translation support.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean, spacious, well-lit, and temperature-controlled manufacturing shop that produces pre-fabricated trusses and wall panels for field construction teams. The facility is highly safety-conscious, with established safety programs and protocols that guide daily operations. Assemblers work in small teams of 3–4 people at various stations across multiple buildings, depending on the specific product being manufactured. The standard first shift runs from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, for a typical 50-hour work week, with voluntary overtime available on Saturdays. The second shift operates from 4:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday, for a 48-hour work week that includes 8 hours of built-in overtime, with voluntary overtime available on Fridays. The environment emphasizes teamwork, organization, and safety, and requires the use of personal tools such as a tool belt, a 25-foot tape measure, and a utility knife during daily work.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of HUGO, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
