Rehabilitation Nurse

Supports and promotes the mission and values of the organization. Renders professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit of the facility and carries out orders placed by the provider responsible for the patient's medical care. Provides comprehensive clinical documentation including care plans each shift. Seeks feedback regarding practice and takes actions as appropriate. Communicates patient information appropriate for continuity and safe care through bedside shift report, multidisciplinary rounds, and hourly rounding. Compliant in achieving unit-specific competencies and requirements. Completes all net learning modules within the timeframe identified. Helps to promote a culture of well-being by decreasing alarm fatigue. Promotes a positive culture and atmosphere within the department each shift. Provides a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff by following established procedures and protocols. Identifies and assists in correction of patient care safety issues. Works within guidelines of a Just Culture Environment to promote error reporting and adoption of safe practices. Assures issues are addressed through appropriate use of the chain of command. Participates in daily unit-based safety huddles. Knowledge and understanding of the organization's overall strategic plan. Remains up to date with unit-based nurse sensitive indicators. Actively participates in quality initiatives and performance improvement to improve patient outcomes. Collaborates with nurses in other departments to draw upon expertise in other clinical areas and specialties. Seeks opportunities to assist all team members. Develops and implements performance goals based on self-assessment and performance feedback. Assures patient education materials are culturally competent. Serves as preceptor for new nurses. Participates in survey readiness. Demonstrates practice that is consistent with the tenets of shared governance and the philosophy of the department and organization. Assists with solution identification in response to problems and conflicts. Effectively delegates aspects of care and unit activities to other nursing personnel. Collaborates in planning, supervising, and instructing other nurses and assistants. Works collaboratively with nursing students and instructors. Participates in the peer feedback process of annual reviews. Participates in the employee engagement survey. Demonstrates characteristics of the organization's values with a commitment to coworkers. Holds peers accountable for the same values. Manages use of Earned Time Off per policy. Completes dysrhythmia course prior to completion of orientation. Maintains current nursing licensure and certifications required for the department. Performs other duties as consistent with this role.
