Change Point Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This full-time role is pivotal in assisting individuals recovering from substance use disorders, providing critical support and guidance as they embark on their journey towards sobriety and improved mental health.

Work Environment\n

The position is remote, allowing for flexibility while still being a part of a dynamic counseling team. Our daily operations are supported by a range of digital tools designed to facilitate seamless communication and coordination. You will have the opportunity to work from home while engaging in regular virtual team meetings, case consultations, and training sessions to stay connected and informed. While the main hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, some evening shifts may be necessary based on patient demand.

Key Responsibilities\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Change Point Counseling Center, your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments and evaluations of individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorders, identifying specific needs, challenges, and treatment goals.

• Creating tailored treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based therapeutic practices, ensuring each plan is personalized to client needs.

• Providing individualized counseling sessions, employing motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral techniques to empower clients in their recovery journey.
\n
• Facilitating group therapy sessions that promote a supportive and shared experience among individuals, guiding discussions and activities that enhance communal healing.
\n
• Collaborating closely with psychiatrists, addiction specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic and coordinated care for each patient.
\n
• Offering immediate crisis intervention to patients experiencing substance-related emergencies, ensuring safety and support during critical moments.
\n
• Educating patients and their families about substance use disorders, effective recovery strategies, and available community resources to foster a successful recovery environment.
\n
• Maintaining up-to-date and confidential documentation in compliance with relevant legal and ethical standards, using electronic health record (EHR) systems effectively.

• Engaging in ongoing professional development and training, and participating actively in team meetings to discuss cases, share insights, and promote best practices.

• Staying informed about the latest research, techniques, and advancements in substance use disorder treatments to provide the highest standard of care.

This role primarily focuses on individuals dealing with substance use disorders, which may co-occur with other mental health challenges. Qualifications\n

Applicants for this position must meet the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Minimum of 1 year of direct experience working in mental health or addiction counseling.
\n
• Current and valid licensure as an LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT in the state of New York.
\n
• A profound understanding of substance use disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment methodologies.
\n
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and a compassionate approach to counseling.
\n
• Ability to maintain professionalism, ethical standards, and patient confidentiality at all times.
\n
• Proficiency in using EHR systems and other relevant digital applications for documentation.
\n
• A commitment to team collaboration and a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in delivering both individual and group therapy in an addiction treatment context.

• Additional certifications related to substance use disorder treatment.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
