Project Accountant

Responsibilities Set up and maintain projects within the accounting system Manage contracts, billing terms, change orders, and project documentation Perform revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP and company policies Track and analyze Work-in-Progress (WIP), job costs, and project profitability Partner with Project Managers to monitor budgets, costs, forecasts, and overall financial performance Prepare and submit client billings and supporting documentation Support accounts receivable activities and assist with collections efforts Perform month-end close tasks including accruals, WIP adjustments, reconciliations, and variance analysis Assist with audits, compliance requirements, and regulatory reporting Support ERP system transitions, implementations, upgrades, and process improvements Provide financial reporting and analysis to management as needed Requirements Minimum of 6 months of construction accounting or related operational accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition principles Experience with project accounting, including job costing, WIP, and project billing Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to collaborate with project managers, operations teams, and other stakeholders Preferred Qualifications Experience with ERP systems such as A&O, Spectrum, or similar platforms Experience supporting ERP implementations, conversions, or system transitions Government contracting experience Experience in construction, engineering, or project-based environments The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
