The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for front line relationship management and acts as client liaison during delivery of a professional services engagement or an outsourced solution. Strategically focused and responsible for client satisfaction, maintaining client communication, and the overall management of the client relationship. Works to grow the client relationship by identifying new business opportunities. Works with delivery team to execute on contract terms and conditions and to ensure on-time delivery of projects that support the client's business.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Works under the daily supervision of the Team Lead or Supervisor
- Effectively work with the client and staff to improve billing operations
- Assists/directs patients with questions ad inquiries
- Collect TOS payment and outstanding balances
- Validate insurance and other billing information
- Obtain precertification, authorizations and other referrals as assigned
- Accurately enters patient updates to the scheduling system
- Ability to review Medical Records
- Assist in identifying current and or potential billing issues specific to outstanding receivable
- Follow up on denied or unadjudicated encounters
- Assist in other duties assigned as they arise
- Protects/observes patient confidentiality per policies and procedures
- Accurately imports registration documents into patients' electronic health records
- Demonstrates knowledge of proper, safe, efficient usage of current office equipment/software
- Work with follow up accounts receivable

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED (or higher) OR 5+ years of medical billing experience
- 3+ years medical billing experience
- 3+ years experience with effectively interacting with physicians, patients, and other staff members
- 1+ year experience with obtaining authorizations of pre-certs from insurance companies
- 1+ year previous experience with insurance verifications
- Currently reside in New Jersey or New York with the ability to travel to 2 office locations; 200 West 57th Street, NY, NY 10019 and 555 West 57th Street, NY, NY 10019
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual communication skills (Spanish)
- Medical billing and coding certification
- Knowledge of electronic medical records
- Access to carrier portals

New York Residents Only: The salary range for New York residents is $18.80 to $36.78.
