Overview Patent Prosecution, IP Transactions & Licensing Attorney Opportunities (Patent Prosecution / Biotech / CS-EE / Licensing / IP Transactions) Locations Pasadena, CA / Long Beach; Remote / New York / Chicago / Florida / Texas Compensation $115K-$220K + bonus; additional ranges vary by role Work Model Hybrid / Remote Flexibility / On-site varies by role Bar Admission Active US Bar + USPTO eligible; Active US Bar + Patent Bar eligible; Active US Bar + USPTO; Active US Bar / USPTO preferred Candidate Requirements Have patent prosecution, licensing, IP transactions, biotech, CS/EE, or partner-level IP experience Have technical aptitude or relevant technical degree where required Be comfortable drafting, counseling, and advising on IP assets Have relevant bar admission or patent bar eligibility where required For partner roles, have portable business or platform-ready client relationships Roles Not Suitable For General litigators without IP prosecution or transaction experience Candidates without required technical background for technical patent roles Attorneys not interested in patent drafting or IP counseling Partner candidates without a credible business case where required Current Openings PhD-Level Biotech Patent Prosecution Associate Location: Pasadena, CA / Long Beach, CA Compensation: $115K-$145K + bonus Experience: 0-3 Years Work Model: On-Site Role: PhD in life sciences required; JD required; draft and prosecute U.S. and international biotech/life sciences patent applications, respond to USPTO office actions, conduct examiner interviews, analyze invention disclosures / scientific data, prior art searches, and patentability analyses. Licensing & Transactions Attorney (CS/EE) Location: Pasadena, CA Compensation: $140K-$220K + bonus Experience: 1-5 Years Work Model: On-Site Role: 1-5 years attorney experience with patent experience at a law firm; manage licensing programs, lead licensee interactions, prepare and present EOU claim charts, conduct reverse engineering/EOU investigations, analyze internet / network traffic, and support patent licensing negotiations. Senior Patent Prosecution Associate (CS/EE) Location: Pasadena, CA Compensation: $160K-$180K + bonus Experience: 6-10 Years Work Model: On-Site Role: 6+ years patent prosecution experience at a law firm; CS/EE technical background; own high-value U.S. and international patent portfolios, office actions, examiner interviews, appeals, prior art analysis, claim charts, IPR / litigation / licensing-informed prosecution strategy, and junior mentoring. Intellectual Property Partner Location: Remote / New York / Chicago / Florida / Texas Compensation: Competitive / formula-based partner compensation Experience: 8+ Years Work Model: Remote Role: Partner or senior counsel-level IP practice; patent prosecution, patent litigation, or combined practice; IP counseling and strategy; portfolio development; risk management; U.S. and international patent filings and enforcement strategies; IP-driven transactions and diligence across corporate, M&A, PE, funds, tax, and real estate.
