IT Manager

Overview Squire Patton Boggs (US) LLP, a global law firm, seeks an IT Manager in the New York and New Jersey offices. This is an in-office role based in New York City, with occasional travel to the New Jersey office as needed. Responsibilities Directly supervise the IT Support Analyst for the New York and New Jersey offices. Provide overall accountability for the delivery of technology services to the offices by the team. Serve as the primary point of contact for IT support queries from end users and management in the local offices. Facilitate communication between central Technology functions, office management, and end users within the offices. Promote the firm\'s technology initiatives and communicate technology programs to the offices. Deliver first and second level technology support on PC-based and infrastructure issues. Provide desk-side support and other face-to-face services (e.g., coaching, configuration, clinics, proactive maintenance). Research, develop, and document best practices and standard procedures using the team\'s knowledge management tool. Assist with execution of firmwide technology projects, providing local leadership, communication, and project management as required. Manage the integration of specialized applications and technology services for individuals and small teams within the offices. Perform local contract, licensing and vendor management for technology products and services not covered under firmwide programs. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of local technology systems (e.g., telecommunication links, LAN cabling). Provide support for hardware in the offices including PCs, laptops, peripherals, telephones, mobile devices, and printers; deliver hands-on hardware support, deployment/installation, and preventative maintenance; manage relationships with providers for warranty and outsourced hardware support. Ensure a professional, high-quality technology experience in conference rooms; manage conference room equipment including laptops, projection, video conferencing, networking, telephony, printing, digital signage, and ancillary A/V systems. Assist with technology aspects of external events run by the local offices; engage with third-party support providers as needed. Support routine operational tasks such as backups, capacity management of file and email services, disk management, and fault isolation; develop capacity plans to support office growth. Contribute to local and firmwide technology budget processes by identifying requirements and assisting with cost estimation. Ensure equipment inventory and local office stock levels are adequate; purchase supplies to meet requirements for each office. Manage or assist with facility and physical security systems as applicable. Maintain confidentiality of the Firm, its employees, and client information; handle sensitive information responsibly and discreetly. Occasionally travel to the New Jersey office as needed. Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree from a four-year college or university and two years\' related experience; or four to six years\' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Law firm experience is desired. At least two years of experience supervising a technology team is required. Strong writing skills, excellent attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines; ability to think creatively. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 or later; knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 or later; familiarity with desktop applications (preferably in a legal environment); experience with PC-based systems, mobile devices and remote access tools; IT qualification at NVQ level (or equivalent) desirable; basic networking knowledge; experience with imaging systems to deploy standard OS builds. Experience in delivering technology training is desired. Action-oriented with a positive, can-do approach. Experience in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
