Together, we're improving health and improving lives.Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team at Syracuse, NY.Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (10:00AM- 6:30PM)Job ResponsibilitiesReceive and sort clinical lab specimensPrepare specimens for testing and analysisScan and/or data entry of specimen and patient informationEnsure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenanceTroubleshoot any specimen related issuesReplenish test bench supplies as neededMaintain a clean and safe work environmentComplete record logs and other administrative duties as requestedFollow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standardsMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentPreferred Qualifications3 months or more of specimen processing experience3 months or more of medical or laboratory experienceAdditional Job Standards· Comfortability with handling biological specimens· Ability to accurately identify specimens· Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills· Ability to work independently and within a team environment· High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask· Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around times· Strong communication skills; both written and verbal· Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position· Able to pass a standardized color blindness test· Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needsPay Range: $17.75-$21/hr.All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
