Step into a vital role supporting K-12 students as a contract school-based Occupational Therapist in the area west of Raleigh, North Carolina. Work in a collaborative, student-centered environment where the workload is carefully reassessed each month to maintain optimal service delivery. This full-time, year-round opportunity offers exposure to a diverse group of students across elementary, middle, and high schools.
Key Qualifications:
- North Carolina OT license from the NCBOT required
- Post-graduate OT degree (Master’s preferred)
- Proven experience working in school environments; NC school experience highly valued
- Strong background in developing and managing IEPs and utilizing ECATS for documentation
- Proficient in performing motor screenings and administering OT evaluations
- Deep familiarity with Sensory Processing Measure–2 (SPM-2) and Sensory Profile 2
- Know-how in applying and interpreting standardized assessments in the school-based context
- Commitment to performing services in compliance with state and district educational standards
- Must obtain an NPI number, register with NC Tracks, and complete district-specific background and fingerprinting procedures
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized occupational therapy interventions tailored to students’ educational needs
- Conduct functional skill assessments and interpret results to inform team recommendations and IEP goals
- Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and families to advance students’ participation and independence in school activities
- Document and track therapy services in accordance with NC regulations and district requirements
- Participate in regular workload reassessment and adapt to caseload changes as determined by the district
