With a consistent 35-hour workweek, you’ll have ample time for lesson planning, student support, and participation in team meetings.

Key Qualifications:

• Possession of a valid Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) Special Education license, appropriately endorsed for early childhood, elementary, or secondary instruction.
• Ability to demonstrate compliance with the Rhode Island Right to Read Act, either through structured literacy certification or willingness to earn proficiency within the first year.
• Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and strategies to promote inclusion and academic growth.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in collaborating with general educators, support staff, and families.
• Solid classroom management and individualized education program (IEP) development experience.

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver specially designed instruction to assigned caseload of elementary students.
• Adapt curriculum and use targeted resources to help students with mild-to-moderate or intensive needs access grade-level material.
• Collect and analyze student data to inform instructional decisions and create/revise IEPs.
• Communicate regularly with families, interdisciplinary teams, and administrators.
• Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that prioritizes student dignity and achievement.
