This role offers the chance to work closely with young learners, fostering their academic and personal growth in either a Resource/Inclusion capacity or within a Self-Contained classroom—placement determined by district needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) Special Education license appropriate for Early Childhood, Elementary, or Secondary instruction
• Commitment to or completion of Rhode Island Structured Literacy proficiency within one year of hire (Right to Read Act compliance)
• Previous experience supporting elementary students with mild-to-moderate disabilities preferred
• Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specially designed instruction to elementary students, tailoring approaches to individual learning needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Support students in accessing the general curriculum and fostering independence within the classroom setting
• Track, assess, and document student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary to ensure growth
• Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that nurtures every learner
