Desired Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) Special Education license for the appropriate grade band.
• Compliance with the Right to Read Act: Structured Literacy proficiency certification or willingness to complete the requirement within the first year of employment.
• Previous experience with elementary-aged students, especially in resource/inclusion settings or self-contained classrooms, is highly valued.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with educators, families, and support staff.
• Dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students with special education needs, adapting teaching strategies to individual learning plans.
• Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with school teams and families.
• Monitor student progress and modify interventions to optimize success.
• Foster a positive learning environment that encourages independence and growth.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to facilitate inclusion and accommodations.
