Work Environment

This position is offered in an onsite setting, primarily within the home care environment, ensuring that we address patients in a familiar and comfortable setting. You will be collaborating closely with a cohesive team of two physical therapists and one Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), where every member plays a critical role in delivering exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments to identify patient goals and needs, helping establish a tailored plan of care.
• Manage a patient caseload, seeing 2-3 patients per hour, requiring efficient time management and effective communication.
• Implement evidence-based treatment plans utilizing diverse methods to enhance patient mobility and restore functionality.
• Provide cost-effective treatments as an alternative to medication and surgical interventions.
• Develop and lead personalized fitness and wellness programs to improve individual patients' strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.
• Regularly evaluate patient progress and adapt care plans as necessary while documenting all services provided.
• Motivate and support patients through their recovery journey, promoting a proactive approach to their health and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to promote optimal patient outcomes and coordinate comprehensive care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily focus on orthopedic patients, many of whom may be recovering from injuries or surgeries related to movement and mobility. You will play a crucial role in devising strategies that cater to their specific needs at every stage of recovery, enhancing their functional abilities and promoting a healthier lifestyle.

Qualifications

• A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
• A valid Physical Therapist License in Virginia, with no previous board actions or disciplinary issues.
• Demonstrated excellence in manual therapy techniques.
• Proficiency in exercise prescription and rehabilitation practices.
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software such as WebPT is preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience as a Physical Therapist in an orthopedic outpatient setting is highly desirable.
• Experience in assessing and developing rehabilitation programs for patients with diverse backgrounds.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage effectively with patients and their families.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $90,000 to $110,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
