Work Environment

This full-time position requires onsite work in a home care setting, emphasizing patient interaction in a comfortable environment. The working hours are Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule while meeting the needs of our patients. Our team consists of two skilled physical therapists and one physical therapy assistant (PTA), fostering collaboration and shared expertise in clinical practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments to identify patient goals and needs for effective treatment development.
• Manage a detailed care schedule that allows for one-on-one patient sessions, maintaining quality interactions with a patient load of approximately one patient per hour.
• Utilize your expertise in orthopedic outpatient therapy to administer targeted rehabilitation treatments, enhancing mobility and strength.
• Implement innovative treatment plans that include manual therapy techniques and customized exercise regimens tailored to each patient's specific needs.
• Educate patients and their families about exercises, health management, and preventative strategies to minimize reliance on medications.
• Monitor and document patient progress using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, including WebPT, ensuring seamless communication across the care team.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care, including coordinating care plans and sharing patient updates.
• Champion a culture of motivation and empowerment by encouraging patients through their rehabilitation processes.
• Promote overall wellness within the community by fostering a healthy lifestyle that incorporates strength, flexibility, and coordination exercises.
• Evaluate treatment outcomes and adjust plans as necessary to ensure the highest standard of care and effectiveness.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily focus on a diverse patient population with orthopedic conditions, including those recovering from surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain issues. Many patients are covered under private medical insurance, allowing for a broad spectrum of treatment options and financial resources to support their recovery processes.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) program is required.
• An active Physical Therapist license in Virginia must be maintained throughout employment.
• A track record free of board actions or disciplinary measures associated with your license.
• Extensive knowledge of and proficiency in manual therapy techniques to facilitate mobility advancement.
• Strong skills in crafting and executing tailored exercise programs for rehabilitation.
• Proficient in using EMR Software, specifically experience with WebPT or similar systems.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of prior experience working in orthopedic outpatient care settings is preferred, providing a solid foundation for handling complex cases.
• Experience working with diverse patient demographics that require individualized rehabilitation approaches.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 100,000 to 120,000 per year, commensurate with experience and commitment.
