Director of Development

$100k - $110k

Global Partnerships

LOCATION : Seattle, Washington (hybrid)

BACKGROUND

Global Partnerships (GP) is a non-profit impact-first fund manager dedicated to expanding opportunity for people living in poverty. Impact-first investing means investing in a way that seeks the greatest possible social impact, while seeking to preserve capital with a modest financial return for investors. GP believes that impact-first investing has an essential role to play in advancing sustainable solutions to poverty for millions of people worldwide.

GP supports social enterprises serving people living in poverty, primarily in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa. We ended fiscal year 2025 with a portfolio of over $180 million in outstanding investments to 86 social enterprise partners. Since inception, our funds' investments have positively impacted more than 39 million lives.

Our mission-driven team operates primarily from Seattle, Bogotá, and Nairobi. Learn more at

ROLE OVERVIEW

Global Partnerships seeks a proactive, highly organized, and relationship-oriented Director of Development to drive pipeline advancement for prospective fund investors and philanthropic donors. Reporting to the Vice President of Investor Relations, this role ensures that GP's growing volume of investor opportunities are strategically cultivated, thoughtfully engaged, and actively advanced.

This is an ideal role for a confident, values-aligned leader who thrives in process-driven environments, manages multiple concurrent workstreams with clarity and precision, communicates effectively both internally and externally, and takes pride in moving pipeline opportunities from interest to commitment.

The Director of Development is a new role at GP, coming in at a key moment as we aspire to diversify and materially expand GP's base of support. This is neither a traditional fundraising role nor a purely investment capital-raising position; the Director will bring fluency and enthusiasm for both, helping prospects engage across GP's full capital spectrum. The Director will be a trusted face of GP as we build new relationships with high-net-worth individuals. Success in this role will be measured by conversion of qualified prospects into high-value relationships for GP.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Pipeline Advancement

  • Own pipeline velocity of early- and mid-stage investor/donor opportunities, with particular focus on HNWIs, coordinating internal stakeholders and equipping relationship managers to move opportunities forward.
  • Prepare executive briefing materials, meeting objectives, and tailored follow-up communications.
  • Recommend and drive specific next steps after each engagement, ensuring disciplined follow-through.
  • Manage a portfolio of active prospects and proactively reengage stalled opportunities.
  • Lead weekly pipeline review meetings for assigned segments, driving clarity on stage, owner, next action, and timeline.
  • Monitor pipeline health, stage progression, and conversion trends; surface risks and opportunities to leadership.
Strategic Prospect Engagement
  • Design and lead strategy for small-group prospect convenings (e.g., dinners, salons, briefings) and other activities intended to accelerate engagement and deepen relationships.
  • Partner with board and executive stakeholders to conduct outreach, spark participant interest, and execute post-event follow-up plans that convert engagement into pipeline progress.
  • Collaborate closely with investor relations colleagues to execute high-quality experiences.
Systems Excellence
  • Maintain accurate, timely records of prospect interactions, opportunity stages, and account strategies in GP's CRM.
  • Continuously identify and recommend process improvements that increase efficiency, clarity, and conversion across the pipeline.
  • Contribute to monthly reporting on pipeline performance and engagement activity.
Requirements

SELECTION CRITERIA

Core Capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable engaging with senior leaders, high-net-worth individuals, and mission-aligned investors.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail; able to manage multiple concurrent opportunities without losing momentum.
  • Process-oriented and motivated by maintaining systems that drive measurable results.
  • Proactive and self-starting; comfortable initiating outreach and creating forward movement.
  • Able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Passion for GP's mission to expand opportunity for people living in poverty.
  • Embodies GP's culture and values: Dedicated, Strategic, Collaborative, Aspirational, Learning, and Excellence.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience in nonprofit major gifts, investor relations, sales enablement, business development, or related roles.
  • Demonstrated experience advancing prospects through complex decision-making processes.
  • Experience working with individual donors, high-net-worth individuals, or mission-aligned investors strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or relevant professional credential preferred.
  • Ability to reside and work legally in the United States for Global Partnerships without visa sponsorship.
  • Willingness to travel domestically on a limited basis.
SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $110,000 per year. GP operates with a hybrid work model (3:2 in-office/remote).
