Staff Accountant

Job Details Title: Staff Accountant Company: Nonprofit Organization Compensation: $35-37/hr (DOE) Job Description Analyze financial transactions and perform detailed reconciliations of general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies as needed. Prepare accurate journal entries and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP and internal accounting policies. Maintain schedules related to assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses to support accurate financial reporting. Review contracts and agreements to determine appropriate accounting treatment and financial statement impact. Reconcile and maintain subledgers while ensuring supporting documentation is complete and accurate. Assist with internal and external audit requests by preparing and providing required documentation. Partner with Finance colleagues and internal stakeholders to research accounting matters and support organizational initiatives. Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes, streamline reporting, and strengthen internal controls. Provide guidance and knowledge-sharing support to less experienced accounting team members. Assist in coordinating assigned accounting projects, audit activities, and operational accounting processes to ensure deadlines are met. Required Experience Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience. Experience working with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.
