About the Position

Job Opportunity – Medical Oncology Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: December 14, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: Night shift position in a 36-bed Medical Oncology unit. Staffing ratios target 1:4, may occasionally be 1:5. Weekend coverage varies based on unit needs. Floating required to other Medical/Surgical Oncology units as needed.

Highlights:

• Comprehensive solid tumor oncology care spanning the entire cancer journey from diagnosis through treatment and end-of-life care
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, esophageal cancers, and those receiving antineoplastic chemotherapy
• Epic electronic medical records system with 72-hour orientation provided
• Oncology experience preferred but not required; strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient safety
• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation required; ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred
• Interdisciplinary support includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Social Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license)
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care nursing experience within the last 12 months
• BLS certification required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skills in telemetry interpretation and monitoring, accessing/managing ports, chemotherapy administration, blood product administration, central line blood draws, IV management, and tracheostomy care
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required (one must be from formal leadership)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Willingness to complete urgent Ohio fingerprinting process upon contract signing
