Payment Specialist

Managing the end-to-end payment process, the full-time hourly Payment Specialist will ensure accuracy and compliance while disbursing funds to external vendors and providers, resolving complex payment issues, and leading process improvement initiatives in a remote environment. Key responsibilities Prepare, audit, and generate complex payment files for submission to payment vendors while ensuring compliance with schedules and guidelines Monitor payment submissions for errors and take corrective actions to prevent delays, while performing detailed reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy Serve as a subject matter expert and liaison for payment inquiries, collaborating with internal and external teams to resolve discrepancies and enhance operational efficiency Required qualifications Strong understanding of medical billing, short payments, and denials Proven experience in reconciliation between various systems Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Microsoft Access Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication across all organizational levels
